i’m sorry but i’m going to have to disagree with you. there is nothing wrong with investing in Black and Brown girls specifically. Most of the service projects that I see this days are aimed at Black boys. I rarely, rarely, see any time or effort spent talking about the plight of young girls. Now if you mean we should also be working towards creating orgs that support trans kids and GQ kids that’s something else. But I’m not down with dissing girl-centered projects.

I agree with you withrevolutionarycries. Improving the lives of any child is important. American lives are not worth more than African lives. You just can’t rank who is more deserving. Instead you should be saying- “Oprah, in addition to the school in S.Africa you should invest in education here”.
